Crew Intro's

Starting with the smooth Matty Rawlinson, this single Canadian season rider is finally coming out of the shadows to return to the play ground he loves. Regrettably, after returning to Australia, he soon realised what he had given up. Continually skyping with Luke, who was spending another season in Canada, Matty grew more and more jealous of the beautiful photos, videos and tales of 30cm deep Pow days.

Matty soon got himself back up onto Luke's level where he had been eagerly awaiting Matty's return. Ready to plan their next trip to the "Land of Maple", ready to continue their epic adventure.

Matty is keen to improve his skills this season to prove himself ready for the snowboard competitions of the future. Ready, with a T-Rice Pro 2013 150 to combat the challenges of park! Fully inspired by the skill and mentality of Travis Rice and Danny Davis, in mind, nothing is going to stop him this season.

Next up is Luke Close, having 2 seasons under his belt, he is ready and frothing at the mouth for the up and coming season. Keen to train hard and shred even harder; pushing, with every fibre in his body, to prove himself worthy for the snowboarding competition ranks.

Rocking the GNU Park Pickle + Contact Pro's, he is fully charged for a none stop season of park park park!...and maybe a little POW...just a little :P

This next girl is the most experienced of the whole crew, skiing since she could walk,Vicky Laflamme-Descarie has been teaching for nearly a decade. She has a love for the snow like the others but is more relaxed when it comes to skiing, she enjoys watching the snow fall, with her head in the clouds as the boys dart around her down into the Park.

Not to say this young French Canadian lady doesn't like to push herself a little. She has plans to follow Luke into his Park sessions this season to test out her skills.

Last but not least, we have Jessi Lauren. The rookie of the crew, eagerly awaiting not only her first trip the snow, but her first trip out of Australia. She started counting down to this trip over 196 days ago, when the boys met to plan it, getting very excited to finally experience what the others all know so well. After a lot of contemplation, Jessi has chosen to learn how to snowboard this season with a GNU B-Street 2013 board, joining the ranks of the so called "trouble makers" of the mountain. Oh, how we love to be outcasts ;). Watching Travis Rice's, 'Art of Flight' a hundred too many times, and gaining all the advice she can from 'The Working Holiday Club's' Jake and Julia, she is ready.

The Countdown is ON

The Countdown to the best winter of our lives is on!
We are down to a measly 26 days!

We cannot believe that Canada is only 26 days away. It is insanity to think that in less than a month we will be jumping on big jet plane and jet setting across the ocean to start a new life in Big White, Kelowna, Canada.

Yep!!! This little snow covered village is soon what we are going to be calling home! Cannot wait to be taking photos like this for ourselves!

Who is this 'we' you speak of, you may ask?
'We' is four young adults. You have Luke, Matty, Vicky & Jessi.
Four very different people, from different walks of life, trusting one another to come together for the best adventure ever.
The four have agreed to live together for the next 7 months in a cute little house in Snow Pines.

How did this become a possibility?

Well, really it is all thanks to The Working Holiday Club.

The Working Holiday Club is really what made this dream become a reality

Making a long story short, Matty and Luke met back in 2006 on a ski trip and fell in love with the idea of snowboarding everyday. After graduating high school they decided they wanted to go to Canada. They started searching the internet they found The Working Holiday Club and knew it was the best company for what they wanted. They wanted the ability to work and earn money, but still have plenty of time to ride and improve their snowboarding skills.

The 2010/11 snow season they spent in Whistler, BC, Canada. This is where they met so many people, and Luke met a special little lady named Vicky.
It was so good for Luke, he extended his stay and also did the 2011/12 season, while Matty returned to Australia to fulfil some family duties.

In 2012, Matty had been missing the snow and his amazing experience in Whistler and decided he wanted to go back. During his stay back in Australia, he met Jessi, who was dying to go overseas and didn't really mind where. Luke came back to Australia and Matty and him decided it was definitely time to go back to Canada for the 2012/2013 season. It was not even an option.

Without a second thought The Working Holiday Club was chosen to help Luke, Matty and Jessi get to Canada. Already having been to Whistler, they chose Big White for the new destination. Using The Working Holiday Club we all applied for jobs, and fortunately received them. The process was super easy. All it did was require a few emails, a phone interview and then a Skype interview. Super simple stuff. This season we are going to be housekeepers!

Jessi, although has attempted several times, has never been able to leave the country. Although a holiday sounded good, she wanted to leave the country for longer than a few week holiday. Listening to the stories of Matty and Luke, she was extremely inspired to do a working holiday program. The Working Holiday Club helped lay out how to get a job, how to apply and get a VISA, and pointed out all the little things that you don't think of, that you really need to do to move over successfully and stress free. Jessi has another friend of hers from high school that is moving overseas and didn't do it through any company program, but on their own, and watching her stress just made her feel a lot more at ease that she went with a company to help her.
